Wrath of the Righteous Prestige Classes: Part 2

It’d be so cool there if there was a Red Mantis Assassin option in the game…

Following my last post which began noting the changes in PrC’s from the tabletop to the Wrath of the Righteous video game, I will continue. As per usual, I will only be documenting changes to the PrC’s. If some feature or ability is not listed, assume that it is included and is unchanged. Please note some skills have changed, so see my post for a complete rundown. So, to continue:

Hellknight Signifier:  HS’s do not require medium armor proficiency. Skill requirements are slightly changed–Knowledge (Arcane) 5, Knowledge (World) 5, Persuasion 2. Aura of Law and Catechesis are removed. Arcane Armor Expertise is altered, as it does not progress to a free action. The mask is confusing, there is no evidence of it being retained, yet Diabolic Harbinger is preserved (though it does not grant telepathy). Assiduous Gaze is altered, it functions as true seeing only. Discern Lies is altered, now an HS gains a +2 bonus on saving throws against spells of illusion school. Again, the requirement to slay a devil is removed. For the different orders and their abilities, see my last post for a full rundown.

Loremaster:  Requirements have changed: must have taken a metamagic feat, and Skill Focus Arcana or World, and can cast level 3 arcane or divine spells. Bonus languages and True Lore are removed. Secrets are altered. Those included are:

  • Cleric spell
  • Combat feat:  get any Combat Feat as a secret. Does not need to meet prerequisites
  • Druid spell
  • Fortitude, Reflex, or Will secret:  +2 to Fort, Ref or Will saves
  • Rogue secret:  gain a Rogue talent as a secret. Does not need to meet prerequisites
  • Wizard feat:  get any Wizard feat as a secret. Does not need to meet prerequisites
  • Wizard spell

Mystic Theurge:  The famous MT is included in the game. Spell Synthesis is removed, otherwise it seems identical.

Stalwart Defender:  Endurance is removed as a requirement, as is proficiency with light/medium armor. I could not locate a list of defensive powers, if anyone can find one please contact me. Mobile Defense is removed

Student of War:  The special requirement for SW is removed. Martial Stance is altered, as now there is a +3 to critical hit confirmation. Tactical Stance is altered, the bit about no longer provoking AoO’s seems to be removed. Anticipate is altered, now it acts as Evasion for Will saving throws. Deadly Blow is altered, now using the Know Your Enemy lets you ignore the target’s damage reduction and immunity to critical hits.

Winter Witch:  Spellcraft requirement is removed. Needs to have Knowledge Arcana 5, and needs to be able to cast level 3 arcane or divine spells as well as have either the frost or winter feature. The WW has several changes for the game. The Hyperboreal patronage, Freeze and Thaw, Sculpt Ice and Snow, Blizzard Sight, Winter Hex and Numbing Chill hex, Iceglide and Inexorable Cold features are removed. In exchange there are new abilities:

  • 1st level, Cold Specialization:  A Winter Witch’s mastery of the cold becomes so great that any Spell with cold descriptor she casts has its saving throw DC increased by 1. All Spells with fire she casts have their saving throw DC decreased by 1. At 5th and 10th level, this bonus and penalty are increased by 1, up to a maximum of 3
  • Winter Witch levels now also stack with Shaman levels to determine the power of witch hexes and access to major and grand hexes, and for acquiring patron spells
  • 2nd level, Unnatural Cold is replaced by Freezing Cold:  now increasing her caster level by 1, at 6th level the bonus increases to 2

That does it. I’ve completed my review of the changes to the Prestige Classes from the tabletop to the Wrath of the Righteous video game. I hope this has been helpful to you. I could not find any reference anywhere on the internet and the further I dove into the wiki the more problems and inaccuracies I found. I hope this has been helpful! I will be posting some power builds, the first one of which is here.
